Port Moody, Canada Tri-City Youth Basketball Association (TCYBA) Full time

**Job Summary**

**Responsibilities**
- Develop and implement training programs that enhance players' skills, game IQ, and overall performance.
- Educate athletes on basketball fundamentals, team strategies, and the importance of physical fitness.
- Plan and conduct **two 1.5-hour practices per week**, ensuring players are well-prepared for competition.
- Lead the team in **4-5 tournaments between April and the end of June**, fostering a competitive and growth-oriented experience.
- Foster a supportive and competitive team culture that encourages personal growth, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
- Evaluate player progress and provide constructive feedback to help them achieve their goals.
- Collaborate with parents, TCYBA staff, and other coaches to promote the team’s success and address any concerns.
- Ensure a safe and disciplined training environment while upholding TCYBA's coaching philosophy.

**Experience**
- Previous coaching experience in basketball at the club, high school, or elite level is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of basketball skills, training methodologies, and game strategies.
- Proven ability to develop and inspire athletes while maintaining enthusiasm for the sport.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to connect with players, parents, and staff.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development in coaching and athlete development is highly desirable.

Please note, practices will be out of SD43 School gyms and games could be anywhere in the lower mainland depending on the tournament that you enroll in.

**Job Type**: Seasonal
Contract length: 3-4 months

Expected hours: 3 - 6 per week
