**GARDEN CENTRE SALES ASSOCIATE**
**Full time 32-40 hours per week**

**JOB DESCRIPTION**:
The Garden Centre Sales Associate is responsible for providing prompt, courteous and efficient service to customers.
Advise customers on appropriate merchandise and related items; processing transactions (cash, credit card, debit card) using retail software; ticketing and replenishing merchandise, general housekeeping of shelves, merchandising, restocking and staying current with trends in the industry.

**DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES**:
As our new gardening expert, you'll be responsible for assisting customers with their gardening needs and sharing your expertise on all things growing. You'll help customers select the right equipment, answer questions about nutrient solutions, and provide guidance on plant care and maintenance. You'll also be responsible for maintaining the store's Seasonal inventory, keeping our shelves stocked, and ensuring that our garden centre live goods are organized, watered and well-presented.

We're looking for someone who is passionate about gardening and is excited to share their knowledge with others. If you have experience in a retail gardening environment, that's a huge plus

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Friendly and helpful attitude toward customers.
- Excellent communication skills.
- High School graduation or equivalent.
- Willingness to learn.
- Good mathematical skills.
- Prior retail experience beneficial.
- Willingness to continually develop professional skills and knowledge base.
- Ability to work co-operatively in a team atmosphere.

**Salary**: $16.50-$18.50 per hour
