**Job Summary**:
At NuEra Properties we believe that safety is the key to a safe and productive work site. We are looking to fill a unique position of a on site Safety Coordinator/Zoom Boom Operator. The position will also include some assistant site manager responsibilities. The primary objective of the position is to ensure a safe working environment on the job site, the secondary objective is to be a proficient telehandler operator to help trades lift materials into the buildings. We believe that these jobs go hand in hand as these kinds of lifts require a safe minded person to coordinate and conduct.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Safety Compliance**:

- Ensure compliance with all local safety regulations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Alberta OHS and other relevant safety standards.
- Develop and enforce safety policies and procedures.
- **Inspections and Audits**:

- Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards.
- Perform safety audits and recommend corrective actions.
- Investigate accidents and incidents to determine causes and preventive measures.
- **Training and Education**:

- Provide safety training and orientation to new employees.
- Conduct regular safety meetings and toolbox talks.
- Develop and distribute safety training materials.
- **Incident Response**:

- Respond promptly to safety incidents and emergencies.
- Coordinate with emergency services as needed.
- Prepare detailed reports on incidents and corrective actions taken.
- Administer first aid as needed
- **Record Keeping**:

- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, audits, and training.
- Ensure all safety documentation is up-to-date and accessible.
- Prepare regular safety reports for management review.
- **Collaboration and Communication**:

- Work closely with the construction team and supervisors to integrate safety into all project phases.
- Communicate safety expectations and policies to all site personnel.
- Serve as the point of contact for all safety-related matters on the construction site.
- **Site Responsibilities**:

- Maintain handrails, guardrails, and floor openings
- Conduct inspections of fire extinguishers and airhorns
- Operating a zoom boom to complete safe lifts for trade partner materials
- Help ensure a clean and organized site
- Coordination of deliveries
- Manage Propane and heaters
- Manage site fencing and security cameras
- Manage labours on site

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction safety.
- Be a hardworking, safety minded, organized team player
- In-depth knowledge of Alberta OHS standards and construction safety regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in using safety management software and Microsoft Office
- Advanced First Aid Training Certificate
- Experience operating zoom booms
- Have a reliable vehicle for transportation

**Physical Requirements**:

- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods.
- Capability to navigate around a construction site, including climbing ladders and stairs.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

**Work Environment**:

- On-site at construction projects.
- Exposure to various weather conditions and potential construction hazards.

Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $60,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
