Ottawa Business Journal is looking for a seasoned business writer to join the editorial team on a long-term independent contract. The writer will cover a variety of sectors and dive deep into the issues that matter to Ottawa business owners, executives, professionals and entrepreneurs.
- OBJ is an independently owned media organization and the leading source of business news and information in the National Capital Region. For more than 25 years, OBJ has engaged with its audience through a variety of platforms, including its website, print newsmagazine, specialty magazines, events, and video.
- **Qualifications**
A minimum of three years experience as a journalist.
- A sound knowledge of business concepts.
- Ability to generate story ideas.
- A familiarity with the Ottawa business community — personalities and issues.
- A proven ability to write longer-form, analysis-style articles.
- Knowledge of CP style and ability to submit clean copy.
- The ability to work independently and to deadline.
- The writer would work remotely, although should be based in the Ottawa area.
