Job Title

Production Tool Machinist II - Die Maintenance

Responsible for setting up and operating a wide variety of machine tools to produce precision manufacturing tooling from complex drawings. Works within a team environment to achieve departmental goals. Maintains work area cleanliness.

Roles and Responsibilities:

- Set up and operate a variety of shop machines and tools to produce precision tooling, metal parts and components involving close tolerances
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings/prints to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations and setup requirements
- Work with a wide variety of materials to produce hardware, components and/or complete assemblies, including experimental/ prototype hardware
- Inspect parts for defects as part of in-process inspection; record results and notify appropriate person of deviation when needed
- Adjusts machine controls to alleviate out of tolerance machining
- Clean work area, machines, tools and equipment
- Train incoming machinists on processes or procedures
- Wears required personal protective equipment at all times in areas where mandatory

Job Requirements:
Education:

- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Machining certification preferred

Experience:

- Five (5) years applicable manufacturing machining experience

Functional/Technical Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

- Ability to understand and act on verbal and written instructions
- Ability to read and interpret drawings/blueprints, specifications and tolerances;
- Deep knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and relationship between prints/drawing and finished product
- Intermediate math (algebra, trigonometry) and computer skills
- Must exhibit attention to detail as well as excellent listening skills
- Must be able to work with a diverse variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds
