**How will you contribute?**

We are looking for a dynamic, self-motivated, highly organized Security Systems Technical Support Specialist to support the Corporate Security Directorate.

Under the leadership of the Chief, Physical and Technical Security, and working closely with the Locksmith and the Senior Security Systems Specialist, the Security Systems Technical Support Specialist is responsible for the delivery of professional technical services related to the security systems across the Senate Precinct (e.g., Integrated security software, technical security components (hardware), CCTV, communication systems, security database, screening and detection systems, etc.)

The Security Systems Technical Support Specialist provides first line technical support to clients either over the phone or on-site, coordinates second and third support from our partners, maintains the various security systems, troubleshoots technical issues, installs and configures and/or oversees the installation and configuration of new security systems.

The general public to staff one (1) determinate (full-time) position for a period of 6 months with the possibility of extension in the Corporate Security Directorate.

This selection process may be used to staff determinate or indeterminate positions at the same level with similar requirements.

**Prerequisites**
- Post-secondary education in a related field OR a combination of education, training and related experience;
- A minimum of two (2) years’ experience working in a security environment, liaising with clients and providing recommendations on security systems standards;
- Experience in installation, maintenance, testing and integration of integrated security systems;
- Experience troubleshooting, maintaining and supporting security systems and equipment;
- Experience providing technical advice and recommendations;
- Experience in installation, maintenance, testing and integration of integrated security system;
- Knowledge of current security system standards and specifications;
- Knowledge of security system operations and designs;
- Knowledge of point monitoring and alarm control systems, CCTV, Intercom as well as computerized security systems and related software;
- Knowledge of video surveillance systems, installation, programming and maintenance;
Ability to read technical drawings;
- Ability to demonstrate initiative, identify and solve problems and work simultaneously with different groups in a multi-disciplinary environment with conflicting priorities.
