As an Assembler, you will fit and assemble mechanical components and systems to build equipment that is dedicated to the rugged and challenging terrain of the forestry industry. To excel in this role, a combination of technical skills is required, including the ability to read and follow engineering blueprints, diagrams, and specifications to attach and install parts and sub-assemblies.
**Location**: 160 Consolidated Drive, Paris, ON
**Dedicated Shift**: 7:00am - 3:30pm, Monday - Friday
Job Duties
- Read and thoroughly understand detailed assembly instructions, engineering diagrams, schematics, and parts lists to ensure meticulous assembly through fit and alignment.
- Position, align and adjust parts for proper fit and assembly.
- Connect hoses, tubes, clamps, and wires.
- Fasten parts and sub-assemblies together using hand, power, and pneumatic tools.
- Operate lifting devices such as cranes (overhead and/or jib) to complete large assembly installations.
- Verify that the assembled equipment functions correctly and adheres to quality standards to prevent faulty products from reaching customers.
Skills and Experience
- Adapt to a changing work environment, competing demands and able to deal with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events.
- Assembly tasks require collaboration with coworkers; effective communication and reasoning skills are essential when working on projects that involve multiple team members.
- Physical requirements include the use of strength such as pulling, pushing, lifting and/or moving objects during the work, as well as standing, climbing, kneeling, and bending.
**Qualifications**:
- Previous related experience maintaining or repairing recreational vehicles, landscaping equipment, small engine repair, pre-apprenticeship training or other general construction/trades courses.
- Mechanical skills using hand tools and power tools.
- Experience reading blueprints or assembly drawings is an asset.
