Poultry Barn Cleaner and Bird Care Technician

You will be responsible for the bird room cleaning and bird care at the Guelph facility, and ensuring that all aspects of animal care and vaccine production are in compliance with approved Outlines of Production (O.P.), Special Outlines (S.O) and Standard Operating Procedures. (S.O.P.)

Additionally, you will assist in vaccine production and may be required to work weekends after initial training.

**Duties Include**:
General preparation of equipment, supplies and rooms
- Weekly inventory check of supplies
- Clean and sanitize production and animal facilities
- Maintenance and Care of birds and bird rooms
- Order Feed and Supplies as needed
- Help with the inoculation, of birds.

Vaccine production in the laboratory
- Assist with the production of different Eimeria species in the laboratory as per the production schedule.
- Assist with general cleaning duties associated with the daily operations.

General documentation
- Detailed, accurate, concurrent, complete record keeping

General miscellaneous
- Follows all safety procedures
- Follows standard operation procedures and company policies

Maintenance and Care of birds and bird rooms
- Feed and water all birds and record observations as set out
- Control room temperature and humidity
- Replace or clean vent filters
- Clean and disinfect empty bird rooms
- Record in Log book when rooms cleaned and disinfected
- Record daily temperature of all refrigerated units; report problems
- Order Feed and Supplies as needed
