**Position Responsibilities**
- Assist with routine maintenance and culture of mammalian cells (tumor cell lines and primary cells) as required including but not limited to passaging cells, seeding cells, thawing/freezing cells, etc.
- Perform cell validation assays such as ELISA, FACS, cell viability assays, etc.
- Operate and collect data via FACs followed by appropriate analysis and presentation of data
- Assist with protein production via transient transfection of mammalian expression systems as required
- Perform small to mid-scale purification of mammalian proteins via affinity chromatography
- Assess and report quality of protein final products
- Assist in development and troubleshooting of new procedures
- Detailed documentation and reporting of scientific experiments
- Assist with laboratory maintenance and upkeep
- Prepare solutions and order reagents/lab supplies as required
- Data analysis, interpretation, and troubleshooting
- Survey scientific literature as required
- Project management, if demonstrated capability

**Applicant Qualifications**
- Recent university graduate with a BSc or MSc in Microbiology / Immunology / Biochemistry / Biology or equivalent
- Previous co-op or work experience in mammalian tissue culture and aseptic technique is an asset (1 year or longer preferred)
- Previous co-op or work experience in flow cytometry is an asset (1 year or longer preferred)
- Previous co-op or work experience in protein purification techniques is desirable
- Experience with experimental planning and project management is desirable
- Experience with data analysis using GraphPad, Excel, and lab specific software is desirable
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to troubleshoot
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and shifting work demands
- Must demonstrate critical thinking and thorough understanding of laboratory techniques
- Must be highly motivated with the ability to learn and grow in the company
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to train and supervise co-op students is desirable
