You love math, logic, order, and seeing a project takes shape in a survey plan. You work with survey equipment and software, but it is the vectors and attributes that really draw you in. You provide the data, the essential starting point for many exciting new projects.
Binnie is looking for a detailed-oriented Survey Technician to join our Legal Survey Division in Burnaby location.
As part of our Geomatics Group, you will help with processing survey data for a wide range of legal land surveying projects around the Lower Mainland and throughout British Columbia.
This position is a full-time office-based position and offers the opportunity to gain valuable work experience and knowledge.

**YOUR ROLE**:
- Manage, analyze, and process survey data using Trimble Business Center and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Prepare a large variety of legal survey plans
- Create topographic survey plans including 3D surfaces and contours
- Research survey records and land titles to obtain information about property boundaries
- Work closely with Project Managers to deliver the project on schedule
- Perform QC on survey data and various survey plans
- Communicate collaboratively with field staff to ensure the scope of work is understood and assist with smooth flow of data from field to office ensuring completeness of data submission.
**WHAT YOU BRING**:
- Geomatics Diploma or Degree from recognized post-secondary institution.
- Minimum 3 to5 years of related experience as a Survey Technician working with AutoCAD and Civil 3D
- Previous legal survey plan preparation experience mandatory
- High level of understanding of survey principles and calculations
- Good understanding of BC land titles systems
- Proficient with Microsoft (MS) Office Suite
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Eligible for Registration as AScT or C.Tech. with ASTTBC
- Field survey experience preferred
- Mentor junior staff if needed
