The Corix team has an opportunity for a **Manager**,** Financial Planning & Analysis based out of Lower Mainland, BC**. This position is responsible for all District Energy Utility (DEU) financial planning and reporting activities within the City Center Energy (CCE) business unit. This position serves as a strategic business partner who adds value to the customer by providing accurate, timely and pertinent financial analysis and results. This position will utilize the efforts of support staff in and outside of finance to prepare internal and external financial analysis and reporting covering capital projects, profit & loss and balance sheet data, and financial metrics.

**What you'll do**
- Oversees and ensures that financial analysis and reporting responsibilities meet internal and external timeliness and accuracy requirements.
- Coordinate the creation and verify the accuracy of key financials to include profit & loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements along with capital project data.
- Prepare the quarterly, and annual external financial reporting packages according to contract requirements including capital project cost tracking, operation and maintenance cost tracking, deferral account tracking, and financial metrics. Review these reports with CCE to ensure acceptance and define any corrective actions.
- Update and manage complex customer financial model and present to internal, direct, and banking customers
- Utilize multiple system driven reports to ensure all reported capital costs are tracked and reported accurately.
- Prepare and present annual multi-year budgets, monthly long-term forecasts, and annual valuation models for revenues, operational expenses, overhead expenses, and capital projects.
- Identifies opportunities for standardization in data, reports, and internal controls, and develops processes focused on optimizing the ease with which data and reports can be integrated and improving processing methods, workflows, procedures and reporting efficiencies
- Prepare reporting for and coordinate quarterly debt and equity draw process in coordination with project management and treasury teams to ensure appropriate funding is secured and contractual obligations with financing entities are met.
- Manages relationships and liaises with external contacts such as customer, municipalities, regulatory authorities, contractors, other utilities, and other government bodies to optimize processes for delivering projects.
- Provides support for the Operations and Project Management departments in budgeting, forecasting, and reporting needs.
- Ensures effective implementation throughout the projects and leveraging feedback into timely and deliverable improvements.
- Ensures contractual compliance of financial responsibilities
- Salary range for this position is $120,000-$150,000 annually. **Competitive salary; negotiable depending on qualifications and experience.**

**What you bring**

Experience
- Experience managing projects to IFRS, GAAP, ASPE Accounting Standards
- Experience developing and/or the ability to understand complex financial models
- Financial reporting and preparation of financial statement experience
- Capital asset experience
- Experience working across multiple teams to support analysis and reporting accuracy

Education and Certification
- Degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA designation with at least 5 years post designation experience

Nice to Have
- Utility experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Able to lead, influence, and persuade without being a direct manager
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Able to develop strong business relationships and provide functional support throughout the organization.
- Able to effectively communicate complex financial reports to non-financial team members.
- Strong abilities using V and XLOOKUP, pivot tables, and other spreadsheet functionality to manipulate, analyze, and take action on financial data.
