Director, Health Informatics

Salary range: The salary range for this position is CAD $72.11 - $103.65 / hour Detailed Overview:
**Supporting the Vision, Values, Purpose and Commitments of Fraser Health including service delivery that is centered around patients/clients/residents and families**:
Reporting to the Chief Information Officer and working in collaboration with the Chief Project Officer, Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO) and Chief Clinical Information Officer (CCIO), the role is responsible for the strategic leadership and project management for the verification, design, build, integration, implementation, operational management, benefits realization and sustainment of clinical information system renewal, with a focus on Meditech Expanse. Leads, implements and oversees the conceptual framework and strategies for clinical and information systems transformation - Meditech Expanse Project (the

- ) to enable improved clinical and health system outcomes and transform clinical workflow and documentation processes across Fraser Health.

Has overall responsibility for the budget for the Project team, reporting to the Chief Information Officer, and ensures the deliverables are on time and on budget. Establishes investment priorities and undertakes vendor contract negotiations.

**Responsibilities**:

- Works closely with the Chief Information Officer, Chief Project Officer, CMIO, CCIO and senior leadership team in leading the verification, design, build, integration, and implementation activities and sustainment of the Project. Ensures that efforts are aligned with, meet, and support the vision, mission, values, ethical frameworks, policies, procedures and strategic directions of Fraser Health.
- Works closely with Professional Practice, clinical and operations teams of physicians and health care professionals to identify clinical system requirements; reviews clinical workflow and electronic documentation processes and integrates clinical system transformation.
- Provides Project oversight and senior leadership by developing and managing project timelines/milestones, formulating change management strategies, identifying implications, mitigating risks and identifying qualified resources within approved funding and resource constraints.
- Leads and manages a number of complex project teams and committees to ensure efforts are aligned consistently with the vision and direction.
- Provides oversight for the budget for the Project. Ensures deliverables are on time and on budget. Establishes investment priorities and undertakes vendor contract negotiations.
- Works closely with the Ministry of Health, PHSA, Interior Health and other health authorities to establish common standards, alignment with provincial strategies and common interests. Works collaboratively with the Doctors of BC to establish common approaches to physicians practice transformation and change.
- Identifies emerging trends, initiatives, clinical and technical best practices and ensures full consideration in the definition and communication of clinical system requirements and business value propositions, priorities, solution roadmaps, ongoing development of informatics solutions to support transformation and evaluation of options brought forward by Health Informatics and other lower mainland and provincial bodies.
- Ensures effective communications regarding the introduction of clinical and business information systems solutions and operational changes within Fraser Health.
- Develops and implements policies, strategies, and operating objectives consistent with the clinical and systems transformation strategic directions and vision for Fraser Health.
- Builds strong working relationships with local and regional leaders and represents the organization's interests on clinical and systems transformation within these forums.

Qualifications**:Education and Experience**

Master's Degree in Business Administration, Health Information Management or a related discipline, supplemented with more than ten (10) years' recent, related experience in a large clinical system environment including five (5) years' leadership experience, including demonstrated senior leadership roles, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
