In anticipation of opening in the Fall of 2025, we are searching for a **Building and Maintenance Operator** to join our new **Parkland at the Common** team based in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

**About the Opportunity**
- Monitors and maintains building engineering according to established standards and preventative maintenance schedules
- Schedules maintenance of the building systems to maintain the integrity of the facility, not limited to boiler systems, pumps, ventilation systems, plumbing, water and sewage systems, the Energy Management System (EMS) and other building components
- Completes repairs according to established standards
- Performs miscellaneous minor repairs such but not limited to, changing light bulbs in the common areas and amenity spaces, patching holes in walls, and painting, changing air conditioning filters, washing the common area carpets, building systems
- Provides service that is in accordance with organizational standards
- Ensures uniform and personal appearance is clean and professional
- Maintains confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets.
**About You**
In addition to placing high value on continuous improvement, collaboration and accountability, you bring:
- A High School Diploma or completion of equivalent education
- 1-2 years’ experience in construction or building maintenance
- Knowledge of WHMIS and Occupational Health and Safety legislation
- Advanced Proficiency in English required, other languages considered an asset
- You can provide a clear criminal record with vulnerable sector screening
- A passion for the healthcare sector and/or ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodations, services and care.
- Ability to use measuring tools, power tools
- Enters and locates work-related information using computers maintenance management systems.
- Displays a working knowledge in the following categories: air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing trade.
