The Southern Rewind team is growing and is looking for a Technician to support the Hagen team in Lethbridge. The Technician, under the direction of the General Manager, will primarily be responsible to ensure high standards of workmanship and efficiency while working in a busy shop environment and becoming part of a well-established team. This role will also ensure outputs meet production schedules and timelines, safety quality and standards, as well as customer needs at the Hagen location. The Technician must possess some knowledge of appropriate materials, methods, and tools required in electrical repair and maintenance tasks.

**Key Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Test, rebuild and repair electric motors, generators, controllers, pumps, welders, and related electrical and mechanical equipment used in commercial, industrial and institutional establishments
- Diagnose problems and dismantle electric motors, welders, generators, pump and other electrical and mechanical equipment for servicing, modification or repair
- Remove and replace shafts, bearings, commutators and other components, referring to blueprints or service manuals as required
- Detect equipment malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust machine, controls, or control media within capabilities as required to ensure quality of production
- Ensure proper use of required personal protective equipment at all times
- Perform daily maintenance and safety checks on all equipment and tools
- Maintain a clean working area free from dirt and debris between tasks and at end of day
- Bolt, screw, clip, weld, solder, or otherwise fasten parts and components together using hand and power tools and equipment
- Communicate with supervisor, engineers, production control, quality, and other shop personnel for assignments and to resolve machining or quality issues
- Additional duties as assigned.

**Education, Skills and Experience**:

- 3+ years of applicable industry experience
- Knowledge of appropriate materials, methods, and tools required in various assembly processes
- Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner
- Ability to lift heavy objects, walk, and stand for long periods of time
- Ability to perform strenuous physical labour
- Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands
- Demonstrated ability to operate material-handling equipment
- Mechanical experience in a busy shop environment an assetMillwright, Electrician or Electric Motor Systems Technician Apprentices are encouraged to apply

**Licenses & Qualifications**:

- Valid Driver's License and provision of Driver's Abstract will be required
- Forklift operation certificate would be an asset
- Safety Training highly preferred; WHMIS, First Aid, etc.

Pay: From $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
