**POSITION**:
Residential Relief Worker - Overnight Awake Shift

**LOCATION**:
771 Montreal Street, Kingston, Ontario.

**STATUS**:
On-call, no guarantee of hours

**SALARY**:
Starting at $21.00/hour

**RESPONSIBILITY AND DUTIES**:

- Ensure all residents understand and comply with the rules of residency
- Ensure all residents are on property at respective curfew times
- Complete overnight headcounts/bed checks for all residents on property
- Complete overnight security check-in calls
- Monitor internal and external security cameras
- Provide emergency assistance to new clients arriving from the institution to the community
- Manage any concerns brought forward by staff and residents and utilize conflict resolution techniques to de-escalate the situation
- Liaise with the other agencies and community groups, attend community meetings and events relating to criminal justice, reintegration and rehabilitation
- Collaborate with the team to address any problems or conflicts that may arise
- Ensure case management database and files are up to date and debrief with staff at shift change
- Monitor resident’s conditions and report breaches to on-call Manager

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- College diploma in a Social Services related field
- Work related experience in corrections, residential housing programs, homelessness and mental health
- Experience with crisis prevention, conflict resolution, motivational and counselling techniques
- Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office suite, databases and the internet
- Familiar with community resources and services
- A valid Full G Ontario drivers’ license and reliable personal vehicle
- A satisfactory VSS Criminal Police Check, Enhanced Reliability Clearance (CSC) an asset
- Required to work overnights including weekends and statutory holidays
- This is a single staffed facility for males in conflict with the law
