- **OBJECTIVES**_
- **Project Planning and Coordination**: Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocations to ensure timely, on-budget delivery of civil engineering projects.
- **Team Leadership and Management**: Lead and manage multidisciplinary project teams, ensuring alignment with project goals, client specifications, and organizational objectives. Foster a collaborative environment to drive high performance and meet project deliverables.
- **Monitoring and Reporting**: Regularly monitor project progress, identify potential risks or issues, and report status updates to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and informed decision-making.
- **Risk Identification and Mitigation**: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, ensuring mínimal disruption and smooth project execution.
- **Quality Assurance and Compliance**: Ensure all project deliverables meet established quality standards and comply with relevant regulations, codes, and specifications. Drive projects to be completed on time and within budget, while maintaining the highest standards of workmanship.
- **Policy and Program Development**: Contribute to the strategic advancement of policies and programs aimed at promoting a low-carbon energy future for KDC and the Cowichan community, aligning with sustainability and long-term community goals.
- **Stakeholder and Contractor Liaison**: Act as the primary liaison between architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors, overseeing construction progress, resolving issues, and ensuring adherence to specifications and quality standards.
- **Comprehensive Project Delivery**: Manage all aspects of projects, including planning, engineering design, construction, and financial management, to ensure successful outcomes and client satisfaction.
- **Job Duties and Responsibilities**:_
- **Project Planning and Development**:

- Develop and execute comprehensive project plans, including scope, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Define project objectives, deliverables, and performance metrics, ensuring alignment with client expectations and organizational goals.
- Lead the development and implementation of strategies to raise awareness of KDC’s energy programs and low-carbon energy solutions.
- **Team Leadership and Supervision**:

- Lead and manage multidisciplinary project teams, ensuring effective communication, collaboration, and accountability.
- Provide guidance, set performance expectations, and ensure that team members are equipped to meet project goals.
- Foster a positive and high-performance work environment, encouraging innovation and continuous improvement.
- **Stakeholder Communication and Reporting**:

- Maintain open lines of communication with internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders to provide regular project updates, address concerns, and ensure strong working relationships.
- Prepare and deliver status reports, including milestones, budget updates, risks, and key developments, to senior management and stakeholders.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all project-related communication, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and aligned.
- **Risk and Issue Management**:

- Proactively identify and assess project risks, challenges, and opportunities through technical analyses.
- Develop and implement strategies to mitigate risks and resolve issues in a timely and efficient manner.
- Conduct regular project reviews to ensure risks are managed and that corrective actions are taken as needed.
- **Construction Oversight and Compliance**:

- Oversee construction activities, ensuring adherence to project plans, schedules, and specifications.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations, local building codes, and legal requirements, fostering a safe and secure work environment for all personnel.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols, ensuring that the project complies with all necessary standards and regulations.
- **Contract and Grant Management**:

- Manage, negotiate, and coordinate contracts, grants, and agreements with government agencies, utility providers, and community partners.
- Oversee all documentation, including contracts, permits, drawings, change orders, and other project-related records, ensuring compliance with legal and organizational standards.
- Track the financial performance of projects, ensuring that budgets are adhered to and that any variations are addressed promptly.
