**Location** - Kamloops, BC **Employment Type**:Full-Time, 24-hour shifts; 3 days on, 3 days off **Reports to** - Service Coordinator TOCSC is looking to hire a Personal Support Worker for a female with Diverse Abilities, residing in her own home. We are a CARF accredited agency, and utilize a person-centered support model with focus on constructing healthy, positive relationships for all persons-served. This position is considered a "Live-In" position under the BC Employment Standards Act. Support Workers are not expected to be awake throughout the entire shift and are provided a staff room/bed to sleep in. However, if the individual required assistance overnight, the support worker would be expected to provide essential support when needed. **Person specific training is provided**; however, applicants must be comfortable providing full personal care to adults, and be able to support someone who communicates through challenging behaviours. **Pay and Benefits**: - $270-$310/day - Meals provided during work hours, mileage reimbursed upon submission - Extensive benefits package, including extended health, paramedical health, Employee Assistance Program, and Municipal Pension Plan - 2 weeks paid holidays annually - Extensive on the job training provided **Responsibilities and Duties**: - Aid with activities of daily living, medication administration and personal care as needed - Assist the individual to maintain the household, including food preparation and housekeeping - Support individual to achieve their goals and pursue their leisure activities - Empower the individual’s abilities while promoting their independence and socially valued roles **Skills**: - Ability to work independently - Competent communication and decision-making - Willingness to adapt and learn **Requirements**: - Valid First Aid Certificate *Can be obtained during training period* - Clear Criminal Record check *Processed within our office - Medical clearance form completed by physician - TB test (to be completed within probationary period) - **MUST HAVE Valid Driver's License and vehicle for work purposes**: - Safe driving history **Salary**: $270.00-$310.00 per day **Benefits**: - Automobile allowance - Casual dress - Company pension - Dental care - Disability insurance - Discounted or free food - Employee assistance program - Extended health care - On-site parking - Paid time off - Vision care Ability to commute/relocate: - Kamloops, BC V2C 1Z4: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required) Application question(s): - Do you have a reliable vehicle for work purposes?
