Employee Benefits & Leave Administrator (18 month temporary term)

This Employee Benefits & Leave Administrator position is for you, if you would Enjoy:

- Aiding and facilitating various processes with specific focus on group benefits and leave administration
- Working full-time hours for an 18 month term
- Working out of the Regional Office located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Your Team is counting on you as an Employee Benefits & Leave Administrator to:

- Perform all other responsibilities as directed by the business or leadership team of which the team member is capable of performing.

Employee Benefits & Leave Administrator Accountabilities:
Group Health Benefits
- Maintain all employee benefit records and manage the online group benefits systems
- Process enrollments, make changes and update employee payroll deductions as requested

RRSP
- Maintain all RRSP records and manage the online system.
- Process enrollments, make changes and update employee payroll deductions as requested

Leaves of Absences
- Manage the Leave of Absence Program across Canada (maternity leaves, medical, personal etc.) from the time the employees goes off work until they are ready to return to work. Liaison between the management team and employee. When employees are due back to work, confirm next steps with management team on the status of the employees employment

Required Qualifications:

- Completion of an HR Certificate, 2-4 years of prior experience in working with group health benefits and disability leaves.
- Knowledge of provincial employment standards regarding leaves.
- Able to multi-task, respect confidential information, work with empathy & patience, set & follow-up on deadlines.
- Knowledge of Excel & MS Office programs

Group Health Benefits
- Update benefits tracker spread sheet as enrollments are processed
- Respond to all benefit inquires that employees may have regarding enrolments, company plan and or their active benefit accounts
- Collect benefit cheques when an employee is on maternity leave or on a leave of absence greater than 6 months. When cheques are not received, add function to the payroll system to track the amount of payments missed. Set up payment arrangements for the employees to reimburse the company upon return to work
- Benefit audits-working with Sun Life and Payroll to ensure that enrolment and deductions are set up correctly
- Update all rate changes for salaried and hourly employees on the Sun Life system for life insurance purposes
- Manage STD and Disability claims - Provide employees with paperwork to commence the process of the claim. Complete and submit Employer Statement. Liaison between employee, employer and insurance company. Involved in employees return to work program.
- Setting up employees for mandatory benefits if they fail to submit paperwork on time
- Submit earnings and hours to Sun Life for those on gradual return to work programs
- Process all monthly Group Health Billing Payments and for WDF Cost Plus accounts
- Activate / Deactivate benefits to reflect employee changes in status
- Participate in annual service and renewal meetings
- Post any necessary and informative benefit communications on Beekeeper
- Post Monthly Beekeeper communications regarding group benefit updates and any topics retailed to wellbeing

RRSP
- Respond to all RRSP inquires that employees may have regarding enrolments, company plan and or their active investment accounts
- As bonuses are paid out, assist employees with the option of rolling their bonuses in RRSP accounts
- Organize RRSP seminars and webinars
- Participate in annual service and renewal meetings
- Process bi-weekly RRSP payroll uploads to Sun Life in order to get processed in employees RRSP Accounts. Ensure that reports are accurate and dollar amounts match
- Submit RRSP termination form to Sun Life when employees leave the company. Upon receipt of termination employee will be sent a package from Sun Life regarding options to move their investments.
- Post any necessary and informative Group RRSP communications on Beekeeper

Leaves of Absence
- Manage Workers Compensation Claims across Canada. Work closely with employees, and Case managers on return to work programs and ensuring that employees are
