Radiochemistry Laboratory Technician Lead

**Job Description/Tasks/Responsibilities**
Maintains instrument inventory including procurement, calibration, service, quality checks and inspections. Performs lab analysis and reporting. Works safely. Complies with human rights legislation and respects human rights legislation, treating everyone with respect and dignity, maintaining a harassment and violence free workplace.
- Maintains instrumentation inventory including procurement, calibration, service, quality checks, shipping/receiving of equipment, and inspections.
- Performs lab analysis and reporting, including sample analysis, and participates in governmental inter-comparisons to ensure accuracy of results for regulatory compliance.
- Schedules issuance and collection of dosimeters. Maintains the electronic dosimetry management system. Performs preliminary screening of dosimetry results and notifies Radiation Safety Officer (RSO). Assists in the investigation of abnormal results.
- Schedules and performs/supervises scheduled facility surveys and environmental monitoring. Performs preliminary screening of the results and notifies the RSO for advance review. Assists with the investigation of abnormal results.
- Creates and maintains laboratory procedures. Maintain the records generated.
- Plans and procures supplies and equipment relating to lab, instrumentation and dosimetry.
- Acts as lead to existing laboratory staff as a source of knowledge and provides guidance regarding procedures to follow. Trains new laboratory staff.
- Other duties as assigned.
**Job Requirements/Skills**
- Good English communication skills (written and spoken)
- Comprehensive computer knowledge (Outlook, Word, Excel, MS Project, etc)
- Ability to work independently on your own with mínimal supervision.
**Minimum Education, Experience and Certification Requirements**
- Required education: Secondary School Graduation plus 2 Year College Diploma in Physical or Laboratory Science or equivalent experience.
- Required experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a laboratory.
- Preferred experience: 2 or more years of experience working in a laboratory in the nuclear industry.
- Class G driver's license in order to deliver/pick up instruments from suppliers.
