Information and Special Initiatives Coordinator

As a key member of NAIT’s Student Progression and Registrar team, the Information and Special Initiatives Coordinator is responsible for the development and execution of various communication plans and initiatives for the Office of the Registrar. Reporting to the Director of Enrolment Management, the position works closely with staff within the portfolio and with stakeholders, including the Marketing and Brand team, to develop, update, and improve communications to students and applicants. This position also supports the coordination and execution of special initiatives or projects within the Office of the Registrar.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- In consultation with the Office of the Registrar’s leadership team, develop, maintain, and execute a variety of communication initiatives and plans for the department
- Coordinate internal communication efforts
- Provide writing, editing, and formatting support
- Maintain relevant information about the Office of the Registrar’s presence on the NAIT intranet, nait.ca and MyNAIT platforms
- Ensure critical data and information is accurate, up-to-date and readily available for users
- Maintain key details such as important dates, rates, deadlines and other essential information across front-facing platforms like nait.ca
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to gather, verify and update content regularly and plays a crucial role in enhancing the user experience and supporting prospective and current students with the information they need
- Support the management team with various initiatives and research projects throughout the year, as required. This may include research projects, policy and procedure development review, development of business cases or briefing documents, etc. Examples of initiatives include supporting the rollout of new technologies or software, automating processes, exploring innovative ways to improve workflows and more. Projects often have a focus on both enhancing the student experience and staff efficiency, while ensuring smoother operations and effective service delivery.
**Skills & Abilities**:
- Excellent writing, editing, and proof-reading skills
- Experience with developing and executing communication plans and strategies
- Knowledge of the student life cycle and student engagement strategies
- Ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders and functional units, and foster positive productive working relationships
- Organization, planning, and project coordination skills
- Familiarity with student lifecycle and Registrar’s Office policies, procedures, and business processes would be an asset
- Familiarity with NAIT brand guidelines, style guides, and web writing best practices preferred
- Knowledge of a web content management system (such as Kentico), social media, and graphic software such as Adobe Creative Suite would be an asset
- Knowledge of PeopleSoft and SharePoint would be an asset
**Qualifications**:
- Diploma or degree in Communications or related field required
- 1-3 years of experience with web writing, communication planning and execution, research, writing reports, and creating executive summaries
- Equivalencies may be considered
Applicants with education credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentials evaluated by World Education Services or the International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS).
**Remuneration**: $61,997.52 - $83,085.08 annually, plus a comprehensive benefits package. (Classification - Coordinator I).
- This position is covered by the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE) Collective Agreement._
