**_Right To Play protects, educates, and empowers children to rise_**
Right To Play (RTP) is a global organization that protects, educates, and empowers children to rise above adversity using the power of play. By harnessing play, one of the most powerful and fundamental forces in a child’s life, we enable 2.3 million children each year to stay in school and graduate, resist exploitation and overcome prejudice, keep themselves safe from disease, and heal from the harsh realities of war and abuse. RTP is the only global development organization focused exclusively on using play to transform the lives of children and youth impacted by poverty, war, disease, and inequality. Established in 2000, RTP is co-headquartered in Toronto, Canada and London, UK and has operations in 22 countries across Africa, Asia, Europe, the Middle East and North America.
Right To Play is now seeking a Chief People & Culture Officer (CPCO) who will lead the people strategy and operations function for Right To Play International. As a member of the Executive Team, the CPCO will play a leadership role shaping the direction of the organization while creating an exceptional employee experience for our team members across 22 countries. Reporting to the CEO and working closely with the Executive Team and International Board, the CPCO will act as a strategic partner to their colleagues, playing a critical role in supporting the organization’s strategic direction and growth.
Understanding the needs of the integrated functions of our global organization, the CPCO will ensure we have the right talent strategy in place, supported by people-focused processes and policies, to achieve our strategic objectives. The CPCO will lead all human resources functions including recruitment, talent management, employee relations, performance management, training and development, total rewards, compliance, administration, and health and safety. This role works to ensure ‘Right To Players’ (our team members) thrive in our organization by developing and implementing programs and processes that support their engagement, learning, and professional development. Working in a global matrixed environment, the CPCO is comfortable navigating and partnering across the various teams working across geographies and functions as “One Right To Play.” The CPCO understands how to negotiate, advocate, and communicate the needs of employees and leadership teams, as well as balance the interests of both. In addition to working across the organization, this role will work closely with the Global Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee, external partners for Safety & Security, Safeguarding and Legal, as well as with our International Board of Directors and National Office Boards.
As a global INGO, our people are at the core of our work to protect, educate, and empower the world’s most vulnerable children, and people are at the heart of driving our impact. If you are excited by this opportunity and bring a skillset that combines strategic and playful leadership to foster an inclusive, people-focused culture where employees thrive, a successful track record of developing and leading major change management, transformative initiatives, and strategic and multi-year business plans, as well as the ability to collaborate across a global and matrixed organization, then we look forward to hearing from you.
The role can be based either in London, UK or Toronto, Canada, where RTP can also consider visa sponsorship. Salary range is from $185,000 to $210,000 CAD, commensurate with experience.
