**Our Team**:
Our Sudbury Operations have been in existence for more than 100 years. With five mines, a mill, a smelter, a refinery and nearly 4,000 employees it is also one of the largest integrated mining complexes in the world. Sudbury is also home to several administrative sites serving both the Ontario Operations as well as all our North Atlantic Operations.
Port Colborne is home to our Nickel Refinery where raw materials from our Sudbury operations are processed into electrocobalt and precious metals and serves as a distribution centre for finished nickel products.
**The Opportunity**
We are currently seeking a **Specialist Contract Management **to join our **Project Excellence **team in either **Toronto/Sudbury**. This is a permanent position.
The primary purpose of this role is to support Contract Management areas across the Vale Base Metals CPO portfolio by establishing consistent governance standards and practices, including normative documentation, lessons learned and best practices, technical support and training, definition, and monitoring of KPIs, integration of contract management areas, procurement support, etc. The scope of the role includes projects in Exploration, FEL 1, 2 & 3, and Execution, in Canada, Brazil and Indonesia. Total multiannual budget of around USD 28 billion.
Additional in this position, you will;
- Identify client needs based on data collection and analysis and support implementation of value-added solutions.
- Promote standardization across the project areas through KPI implementation, process simplification, and best practices identification and dissemination, aimed at improving the maturity of the contract management areas.
- Identify opportunities for automation, aiming to improve cost efficiency and facilitate a data driven culture.
- Be an innovation focal point, helping to create/scale solutions, remove obstacles and be a facilitator between project areas and IT.
- Create strategy for data collection and analysis and implement dashboards with various tools such as Power BI, Power Apps, Forms, etc.
- Interact and coordinate meetings with multidisciplinary teams, including contract management, engineering, construction, procurement, legal, etc.
- Be a normative consultant, answering questions regarding normative, processes, procedures, etc.
- Implement training programs for contract management teams and other stakeholders, ensuring alignment with established standards.
- Prepare and present reports to project management and other stakeholders, highlighting good practices, risks and improvement opportunities.
- Support the improvement of other project management disciplines such as planning, cost control, risk management and change management.
**About You**
**Education**:
- Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Economics, Business, Finance or a related field
- P. Eng., MBA, CPA is desirable.
**Experience**:
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in contract management /related field.
- Subject Matter Expert in contract management, including norms, best practices, risk based KPIs, etc. on large-scale engineering and construction projects in the resource sector.
- In depth knowledge of applicable IT solutions and tools such as Power BI, Forms, etc.
**Skills**:
- Excellent communication skills to navigate diverse cultures, languages, and multiple levels of management.
- Excellent collaboration and relationship building skills.
- Ability to build momentum and positive energy for change.
- Structured and organized in handling multiple data sources: simplifying information in a consistent manner for ease of understanding by others.
- Detail oriented and able to work independently as needed.
- Clear, concise verbal and written communication skills in English is a must, fluency in Portuguese is a definite asset.
