Quality Inspector

Responsible for the inspections of in-process and finished parts and recording the statistical process control data.
This position is responsible for the inspection of in-process and finished parts and the recording of statistical process control (SPC) data. This position initiates defective material rejection (DMR) forms, and takes a leading role in organizing and recording rework activities. The inspector works closely with the Quality Assurance Manager for quality issues, and with the Supervisor and Operations Manager for scheduling issues.
Daily Responsibilities:
- Provide First and Last Off approval and inspect in-process and finished parts in accordance with the control plan.
- Record SPC measurements and initiate corrective actions as required.
- Print and attach barcode and other required labels to bins of finished parts.
- Ensure containment and initiate DMR for any non-conforming parts found.
- Schedule and oversee rework activities as resources allow.
- Exchange information and direction with the Quality Assurance
**Must be able to Stand and walk for long periods of time.**
Grade 12 education or equivalent.
Experience with basic measuring instruments (micrometers, verniers) is an asset.
Familiarity with basic quality concepts including PPAP, SPC and relevant quality standards (ISO 9001 / IATF 16949) is an asset.
