**Job Summary**
We have an 84 room hotel, and are seeking a dedicated Bookkeeper to oversee and manage all financial data to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Recording all income, expenses and financial activities using Quickbooks;
Maintaining General Ledger by reconciling accounts and correcting discrepancies;
Accounts Receivable: enter guest receivables, collect & process payments under a sub ledger to the general ledger;
Accounts Payable: enter vendor invoices and process payments including for all government remittances and company credit cards;
Payroll Processing: manage all aspects of payroll using a payroll service provider including calculating hours of pay, taxable benefits, new employee hires and employee terminations to ensure employees are paid accurately and in a timely manner;
Bank Reconciliation: reconcile bank statements with internal records to identify and resolve discrepancies;
Preparing Financial Statements: generate monthly Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss Comparison Reports as well as annual financial statements and trial balance for year ending;
Year-Ending: work together with accountant to complete fiscal year-end statements and yearly audit;
Expense Management: monitor expenses; prepare various reports including payroll and maintenance costs to identify variances, recommend adjustments and to track budgets;
Guest Assistance: respond to guest inquiries and resolve issues while maintaining positive guest relations.

Diploma in Bookkeeping or Accounting an asset

Minimum two years experience in bookkeeping required

Proficiency in Quickbooks accounting software

Experienced in using MS Word, Excel and Outlook

Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and practices

Strong communication and interpersonal skills for guest and vendor interactions

Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
