Overview:
**AIX System Operator / Administrator**:**
Preferred Experience**:

- Excellent oral and written communications
- 3+ years of experience with AIX & IBM Power Systems, Redhat and Oracle Linux distributions
- Proficient in managing AIX, Windows and Linux platforms. Specializing in Windows scheduler, CRON and system related scheduling jobs.
- Demonstrated ability to self-motivate and be flexible within a fast-paced environment
- Other duties as assigned. Comfortable working weekends and off hours on-call support.
***Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications**:**
Required Experience and Skills**:

- Strong networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, SFTP, SSH) and perform functions using various UNIX and Linux commands
- Specialized knowledge in Korn Shell scripting; Server-side scripts (i.e. ksh, bsh) and script debugging skills. In depth experience in Shell script, crontab
- Basic understanding of Oracle, SQL databases and knowledge in writing SQL queries
- May require providing occasion backup to DBA and developer
- Managing UNIX system jobs; supporting ETL and transferring data in between systems via scheduled tasks
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skill
- Confidence in own abilities and a willingness to make decisions and escalate when necessary
- **IBM AIX operations**:

- Knowledge of IBM AIX 7.1 (Essential)
- Additional certification an asset: IBM Power Systems with AIX, RHCE, RHCT
