**Background**:Our valued financial services client is seeking an experienced AIX Systems Administrator to lead the migration, configuration, and testing of AIX-based workloads. The role involves ensuring system compatibility and failover readiness, conducting comprehensive pre
- and post-migration health checks, and developing and executing rollback and disaster recovery plans. The administrator will collaborate closely with database administrators and VMware engineers to ensure seamless system integration and performance.

**Qualifications**:

- 8 years experience in AIX System Administration

**Responsibilities/Deliverables**:

- Lead the end-to-end migration of AIX-based workloads, including planning, execution, and validation phases.
- Configure AIX systems to meet performance, security, and compatibility requirements in the target environment.
- Conduct rigorous testing of migrated workloads to ensure functionality, stability, and compliance with operational standards.
- Perform detailed pre-migration system health assessments to identify potential risks and dependencies.
- Develop and implement rollback procedures to ensure safe recovery in the event of migration issues.
- Design and test disaster recovery (DR) plans to ensure business continuity and system resilience.
- Collaborate with database administrators (DBAs) to ensure seamless integration of AIX systems with backend databases.
- Work closely with VMware engineers to align AIX workloads with virtual infrastructure requirements and best practices.
- Document all migration activities, configurations, and test results for audit and knowledge transfer purposes.
- Monitor system performance and logs during and after migration to proactively address issues.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members involved in the migration process.
