**PLC Electrical Technician**

**Overview**:
Cantrol Environmental is seeking a **skilled and motivated PLC Electrical Technician** to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on environment and has solid experience with control panels, automation systems, and PLC troubleshooting. Starting with a one-month contract, this opportunity has strong potential to extend.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Install, wire, and troubleshoot **PLC-based control systems** (Allen Bradley, Siemens preferred)
- Build, modify, and maintain **electrical control panels**:

- Support **PLC and VFD-controlled equipment** in industrial and commercial environments
- Assist with **commissioning**, field testing, and validation of control systems
- Analyze faults, optimize performance, and document findings
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support project execution

**Qualifications**:

- **3-5 years of experience** with industrial automation or electrical controls
- Hands-on knowledge of **PLC systems** (basic programming or logic editing experience preferred)
- Strong troubleshooting skills in **low-voltage control circuits**, sensors, relays, VFDs, and instrumentation
- Ability to read and interpret **electrical schematics and panel layouts**:

- Proficient with **Microsoft Office**and basic digital documentation
- Comfortable working in field settings (manufacturing plants, test labs, and job sites)

**Assets (Nice to Have)**:

- 309A or 442A Electrician License (or in progress)
- Familiarity with **communication protocols** (Modbus, CAN, RS485/RS232)
- Exposure to **structured text or ladder logic (IEC 61131-3)**:

- Understanding of **GMP, TPM**, or regulated environments
- Basic HMI experience (Siemens, Schneider, or Atlas Copco preferred)

**Other Requirements**:

- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Valid Ontario “G” Driver’s License
- Willing to travel to customer sites and work on-site as needed
- Comfortable getting hands-on — this role includes **shop work, field work, and desk work**

Pay: From $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 - 30 per week

Flexible language requirement:

- French not required

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
