GARDENWORKS Saanich is looking for an energetic and passionate, gardening enthusiast who is customer service focused and enjoys sharing knowledge with others This is a lead position mentoring under the Department Manager.
**Job type: Full time 40 hours per week. Salary: $21.00 - 24.00/hr**
**Overview Of Role**
- Building sales and supporting the GARDENWORKS Brand by providing outstanding service to our guests
- Sharing your gardening knowledge - informing guests about care & maintenance of their plants, asking questions to help solve gardening concerns
- Assisting in the execution of the product flow process, including receiving, pricing, preparing product for floor, and final placement - ensuring product meets our quality standards Working with the store merchandiser in creating displays that inspire our guests
**Is this you?**
- A passion for what we do - connecting people to nature and growing
- Solid knowledge of trees & shrubs, including proper growing and maintenance requirements
- 3+ years customer service experience, preferably in a retail setting
- Strong organization skills are self-directed, and you work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strength in Microsoft excel, and utilizing our POS system for sales reporting
- You believe in fostering a positive and respectful workplace - listening, looking for solutions and encouraging open communication among the team
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts including weekends, and holidays as seasonal peaks require, including store opening and closing responsibilities This job requires extended periods of walking and standing, as well as the ability to lift to 50lbs and work in various weather conditions and environments
Forklift certification or willingness to go through our in-house training program
