The Bowmanville Farmers Market is a vibrant community hub that brings together local vendors, fresh produce, artisanal goods, and the community. We're looking for a passionate and outgoing Market Coordinator to help create a welcoming and lively experience for all who attend.
As the Market Coordinator, you will play a key role in the success of the market every Friday throughout the season. This position involves both physical and customer-facing responsibilities, making it perfect for someone who loves community engagement and thrives in a dynamic environment.
**Responsibilities**:
- Transport market equipment, including tents and supplies, using a larger vehicle.
- Set up and take down tents and market equipment (must be able to lift and carry items).
- Act as the main point of contact for vendors and visitors, providing exceptional customer service.
- Manage any issues that arise during the market, following provided training.
- Create engaging social media content, capturing photos and videos, and posting throughout the market day.
- Maintain a positive and energetic atmosphere, promoting the market and engaging with the community.
**Requirements**:
- Access to a larger vehicle for transporting market equipment.
- Ability to lift and set up tents and perform physical tasks.
- Experience in customer service and community engagement.
- Strong communication skills and a friendly, outgoing personality.
- Social media savvy, with the ability to create and post engaging content.
- Trustworthy and reliable, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Passion for supporting local businesses and fostering community spirit.
