**PART-TIME FUND DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR**

Durham Youth Services is a non-profit organization and a registered charity that partners with youth aged 16 - 24 to achieve and maintain lasting solutions to their housing crisis, in pursuit of our vision to end youth homelessness in Durham Region. Serving over 400 youth in Durham each year and with the need rapidly escalating, DYS is seeking a part time (hours will fluctuate, but average approximately 17 hours per week) Fund Development Coordinator to help raise the funds we need to support the youth we serve.

The Fund Development Coordinator will play a major role in supporting Durham Youth Services fundraising efforts. This role is responsible for identifying potential funding sources, tracking, identifying and building relationships with donors and sponsors, and coordinating events and fundraising campaigns. The role requires strategic planning skills and effective communication abilities and is essential in securing financial support to further cultivate the organization's goals.

**So What Will You Actually Do?**

Reporting to the Executive Director, the responsibilities of the Fund Development Coordinator, but are not limited to:

- Seek out funding to support DYS projects, programs, infrastructure and future growth.
- Build and maintain donor relations database and manage communication with donors.
- Develop current and future fundraising opportunities for individual and corporate donors.
- Develop planned giving, event opportunities, sponsorships, and in-kind donations.
- Maintain fundraising and donor records.
- Attend and speaking at external functions to promote the organization when required.
- Community education with general public, external partners, and organizations.
- Utilize canva and other design platforms to design and execute social media and print campaigns to brand awareness and fundraising.
- In partnership with the Executive Director and Community Engagement Specialist, support grant and proposal-writing.
- Perform other related activities, as necessary or as assigned

**What Skills and Experience Will Make You Amazing at this Job?**
- Proven experience in fundraising in the non-profit sector.
- Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed fundraising targets.
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in business, public relations, communications, or marketing considered a strong asset
- Persuasive public speaker able to take the stage with a microphone or network the room.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Knowledge of ethical fundraising practices and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Passion for the mission and values of the DYS.
- A self-starter with the ability to think strategically and operate tactically.
- CFRE completed or in progress is an asset, but not required.

**How to Apply**:
**Terms of Position**:
This position is part of the LiUNA 3000 bargaining unit. Compensation is $28.16/hour.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $28.16 per hour

Expected hours: 15 - 20 per week
