Treaty Assistant

**JOB SUMMARY**
We are looking for a passionate and experienced **Treaty Assistant** to join our team and support Homalco’s treaty negotiations.
This person will be responsible for organizing people, time, and resources related the Homalco treaty negotiations. These responsibilities will include scheduling meetings, preparing meeting materials, recording meeting minutes, supporting research activities, records management, providing clerical support to the Lands and Resources team, and organizing events.
**JOB DESCRIPTION**
**Responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:
- Working closely with Chief and Council, the Lands and Governance Director, the Rights and Title Coordinator, along with other members of our team and contractors.
- Organizing and planning events, including community outreach sessions.
- Supporting community outreach to Homalco members, including social media, updating the website, and direct member engagement.
- Supporting the development and distribution of information posts, updates, and materials.
- Organizing and planning meetings.
- Note taking, preparing materials, recording keeping, and record management.
- Supporting research and other related activities.
- Performing other duties and responsibilities as necessary and as assigned by the Lands and Governance Director or the Rights and Title Coordinator.
**Skills and Qualifications**:
- Excellent computer skills
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to plan, organize, and facilitate meetings and events
- Excellent records management skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
**Education and Experience Requirements**:
- Clerical or administrative assistant education or experience.
- Records management certificate an asset.
- Experience working within an Indigenous community.
