It’s not often other telecommunications companies can say: we build, own, and operate the largest independent fibre-optic network in Montreal and Toronto. It starts with you, our future Utility Locator who drives from site to site— to mark underground utilities that our teams depend on for construction projects. You’ll jump in your Beanfield vehicle (after conducting a safety check) and travel to different work sites alongside your trusty laptop. You’ll work through locating tickets, read and update maps/sketches and ensure our crews and contractors are working in the correct area. All while ensuring that your safety and the team’s safety is top priority on-site, and on the road.

Beanfield has owned and operated our fibre optic network in the GTA for over 30 years. Our in-house locates team work hard to ensure the health of our fibre optic network. Our team is looking for a responsible, detail-oriented individual to join us.

**What you'll be doing**:

- Screen locate tickets and clear through the On1Call system.
- Update as-builds in field and place accurate measurements from fixed points.
- Collect field data operating electromagnetic induction, locating equipment with all accessories.
- Read, interpret and augment maps.
- Drive service vehicles and maintain inventory and safe storage of equipment.
- Travel to other cities/areas, working in a variety of settings and worksite conditions.
- Be available for on-call for evenings and weekends for emergencies only. (Rotated amongst the team.)
- Operate a computer.
- Create digital locate sketches.
- Other duties as required.

**What we are looking for**:

- High school diploma
- Relevant work experience in construction, General Labour, Installation Technician, and Fibre-to-the
- Home Installer preferred.
- **Valid Ontario Drivers License is a must-have.**

Additional Notes
- Work in all outdoors weather conditions, available to work weekends/nights for emergency locates requests only.
- **Require a valid Ontario Driver’s License**
