Our team members are in high demand by boards, senior executive teams, industry associations, and conference organizers seeking to understand current best practices and emerging trends in the rapidly evolving areas of ESG, including climate change. **Your Role and How You Will Contribute** As a Principal, you will report to the CEO and be responsible for business development, client management and oversight, and internal firm/team leadership. As a boutique firm, our clients value a hands-on, pragmatic approach led by our senior team. Principals should bring a deep network of contacts in Canada, the United States and/or Europe. A successful Principal will be a recognized leader in ESG with deep expertise in an industry (e.g., mining, oil & gas, real estate, manufacturing, infrastructure) or a specific area of ESG (e.g., climate change, diversity, equity and inclusion, human rights). Executive presence and an engaging communication style are key to achieving the goals of this role as you educate, persuade, and gain the commitment and buy-in of others. Our leadership team has a variety of specializations, and we work collaboratively to provide best-in-class client service focused on adding value on every engagement. **Client Management and Oversight** - Design and lead complex/challenging projects including research, sophisticated analysis, and broad scope stakeholder engagement (including but not limited to executives, boards, investors, customers and employees of our clients). - Overseeing project teams to execute the work, providing guidance on solutions and concepts of how to tailor our approach to the client’s unique business. - Oversight of client deliverables, including planning, delegating, coordinating, detail review and budget/hours tracking to the firm’s high quality standards. - Assist with preparation and review of ESG reporting for companies and investors in alignment with appropriate ESG frameworks. **Business Development** - Lead new business development activities, including new client pitches and proposal development focusing on larger clients and complex/large mandates. - Regularly contribute to thought leadership and blog content for posting on our website, newsletter, and social media channels (over 28,000 followers on LinkedIn). - Leveraging profile and network, participate speaking engagements. - Proactively propose and lead design and implementation of innovations and enhancements to service offerings and operational policies and processes. **Firm/Team Leadership** - Support the CEO and leadership team by providing strategic advice on firm growth plans based on market insights and client relationships. - Provide strategic oversight and coaching to Directors, Senior Associates and Associates to support their development and career progression at the firm. **Qualifications** **Education** - Post graduate education in a relevant discipline (e.g., commerce, environmental science, sustainability management). - CFA or CPA designation is an asset. **Experience** - At least ten years’ professional experience. - Expe
