**Position Title**: District Sales Manager
**Department**: Street Sales
**Position Reports to**: VP of Street Sales
**Position Summary**:
The District Sales Manager is a seasoned sales and people leader, with proven success within the foodservice distribution industry. In this position, the DSM will bring a results-orientated drive to manage and guide a team of sales professionals within a designated region within Ontario to achieve revenue goals for the district.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Manage sales team members on a daily basis and provide guidance as needed
- Manage sales quotas, gross margin and overall performance of Territory Managers to meet profitability goals
- Maintain clear and complete sales reports for management review
- Identify areas of improvement and provide training to sales team including sales strategy implementation and best-selling practices
- Provide support to team to implement new sales techniques to obtain profits
- Participate and engage in HR activities including recruitment, retention, and promotion activities
- Conduct employee performance evaluations and provide feedback for improvements
- Contact potential customers and identify new business opportunities
- Keep a pulse on customer needs, market trends, and competitors
- Build strong relationships with customers for continuous business growth
- Analyze sales performance and recommend improvements
- Ensure sales team follow company policies and procedures, and support Flanagan’s vision, mission, and values at all times
- Develop promotional programs to increase sales and revenue
- Plan and coordinate sales activities for assigned projects
- Provide a high level of customer service focused on customer satisfaction
- Develop and maintain relationships with key customers within each sales district
**Required Qualifications**:
- Minimum 5 years food service experience as a chef, sales manager, or related sales role required
- Post-secondary education in sales or marketing preferred
- Strong understanding of relationship between sales and margins required
- Previous broad line food service sales experience and understanding of industry required
- Excellent verbal and written communication, and presentation skills required
- Strong ability to develop and maintain positive relationships
- Ability to analyze and communicate data to grow sales and overcome obstacles in the sales process
- Demonstrated negotiation and problem solving skills
- Strong organization and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects
- Class G driver’s license and ability to travel required
**Unique Requirements**:
- Frequent travel and use of personal vehicle 75-80% of the time.
