**Fisheries Guardian Supervisor**:
**Job Summary**:
- Reporting to the Fisheries Program Manager, the Fisheries Guardian Supervisor will oversee and coordinate the activities of the Fisheries Guardians. The role includes scheduling, reporting, on-site supervision, liaising with external agencies (such as DFO and Guardians Watchmen), and ensuring that guardians meet field work expectations and reporting requirements. This position plays an essential leadership role within the Fisheries Program, supporting the protection and management of aquatic resources.
**Specific Responsibilities**:
- Supervise and schedule Fisheries Guardians to ensure effective field coverage and patrols.
- Maintain regular communication with the Fisheries Program Manager and provide weekly reports.
- Coordinate with Guardians Watchmen and other relevant agencies.
- Participate in field activities including patrols, research, monitoring, and enforcement as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all operational protocols and safety requirements.
- Assist in training and mentoring new Fisheries Guardians.
- Maintain detailed records and reporting for patrol activities, incidents, and enforcement actions.
- Support community outreach and education initiatives related to fisheries conservation.
**Qualifications**:
- Experience working as a Fisheries Guardian or in a similar enforcement, compliance, or resource protection role.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in remote field settings.
- Knowledge of fisheries regulations, compliance practices, and Indigenous conservation principles.
- Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License.
- Valid certifications (or willingness to obtain) such as First Aid, Marine Emergency Duties (MED A3), Swiftwater Rescue, and Small Vessel Operator Proficiency (SVOP) are assets.
