The Academic Integrity Facilitator (AIF) provides expertise in the successful promotion and implementation of academic integrity policy, procedures, best practices, and educational supports through the Academic Integrity Office (AIO). The AIO helps to inform Academic Integrity (AI) Student Ambassadors programming to support peer-to-peer learning between students on AI-related matters. Under the guidance of the Manager, the AIF develops institution-wide campaigns and supports to promote the principles of AI and raise awareness of AI in the Sheridan community. The AIF liaises with Library and Learning Services and SPARK in the development of AI workshops and learning tools for faculty and students. The AIF acts as a resource to SPARK in supporting the integration of AI principles into the curriculum and in the classroom. The AIF tracks incidents of AI and uses metrics to inform decision-making in the review and development of AI programming and AI policy and procedures at Sheridan. The AIF also shares this data as knowledge with programs and administrators.

What You’ll be Doing

Acting as a resource for faculty and students regarding the AI policy and procedures;
Facilitating faculty member/student discussion regarding potential AI breaches when requested by faculty;
Recording, monitoring and reporting AI remediation activity;
Co-developing and acting as a resource for AI remediation materials and supports

Acting as a resource for the Academic Appeals Committee for AI related appeals and provide input as requested;
Creating and delivering information sessions to faculty and students on Sheridan’s AI policy and procedures;
Providing guidance to Liaison Librarians, AI remediation specialists and the CTL in the development and updating of any AI tools, modules or instructional materials;
Informing educational materials aligned with course content to support integration of AI principles in the curriculum and classroom, including the development and implementation of AI activities and initiatives for high-breach courses;
Acting as liaison for issues within other units and committees supporting teaching and learning and academic quality;
Acting as a member of the AI Council of Ontario (AICO, an affiliate of OCAV), participating in workshops and representing Sheridan in council activities;
Acting as a member of the International Centre for AI (ICAI); attending ICAI annual conference;
Designing and developing original AI brand that embodies the principles associated with AI;
Developing plain language materials to create AI narratives that are more accessible to students and faculty;
Developing and updating AI website and educational support resources; maintaining AI course modules and tutorials;
Prepares and delivering presentations to the Sheridan community on AI related matters including at faculty member meetings, classroom presentations and administrator meetings (e.g. to Dean/Associate Deans);
Analyzing data for the purpose of synthesizing information for program areas to better understand breaches by program and courses; Analyzing data for the purpose of identifying and following trends in AI infractions and recommend modifications where necessary to AI-related policies, procedures and programs;
Displaying statistics into infographics and reporting information to various business units within the College;
Providing input to the development, facilitation of training program for student AI Ambassadors;
Performing other related duties, as assigned.

Your acute verbal communication and presentation skills allow you to persuasively present educational topics to groups of faculty, staff and students and deliver communication and outreach campaigns.

You enjoy balancing many different tasks and can prioritize multiple projects while staying organized and maintaining a high level of attention to detail.

Your excellent analytical, assessment and problem-solving skills, along with your ability to maintain good judgment, allow you to interpret policy and procedures and provide recommendations, resolve challenges and improve existing processes.

Your keen ability to display diplomacy, tact and professionalism allows you to work well with others to support, establishing and achieving collective goals.

4-year degree in Education or related field of study; Master’s degree preferred (preference will be given to applicants who have one or more university degrees in Education)

3 years of formal classroom teaching experience, including curriculum delivery, evaluation and assessment of students on course learning outcomes, in a post-secondary environment (equivalency will be considered)

Experience collecting, recording, analyzing, reporting, and presenting data

Experience supporting AI in an educational institution is preferred
