**Position: Produce Manager**

**Overall Mission**: To supervise and direct all activities of the produce department to ensure achievement of department goals and targets while upholding Company principles, policies and standards.

**_Key responsibilities: _**

In order to fulfill your duties you are expected to:

- Ensure that Company principles, policies and store management direction is followed by all employees and reflected in the day to day operation of the produce department.
- Be punctual and present yourself in a neat and well-groomed manner every day and wear your uniform if you are required to do so.
- Be a good role model to your staff, and whenever you represent the Company.
- Supervise and direct the activities of all produce department employees including your department Assistant to ensure the successful operation of the produce department.
- Ensure that the overall look of the produce department (front & back including produce coolers) is always maintained to Company standards.
- Ensure that all display counters & tables are well stocked, well maintained, properly rotated and have a pleasing appearance.
- Ensure that product is handled in a manner that no unnecessary damage will result.
- Ensure accurate pricing of all produce items in cooperation with Produce Buyers, making sure that computer printouts co-relates with signs on products.
- Ensure the cleanliness is well maintained throughout the entire department (front & back) at all times.
- Ensure that the entire produce department looks good and is ready for business when the store opens to the public.
- Supervise the overall merchandising of the entire produce retail area to insure maximum impact of sales.
- Ensure timely preparation of produce, trimming and stocking consistent with Company standards.
- Keep Assistant Produce Manager informed of department activities on an on-going basis.
- Responsible for the maintenance of produce equipment with Assistant Store Manager approval.
- Ensure that Personal Protective Equipment is worn by employees where required.
- Ensure that the quality and freshness of produce is maintained throughout the department al all times.
- Ensure that safety guidelines are properly implemented and followed to help ensure safety in the work place.
- Working cooperatively with Produce Head Buyer to achieve Company goals and targets.
- Responsible for scheduling all produce department employees, with Store Manager review and approval.
- Conducting performance evaluations of all produce department employees and participating in performance reviews conducted by the Store Manger.
- Maintain absolute confidentiality from competitors and suppliers alike with regard to our Company operating system, at all times. Your total Company loyalty is expected.
