Position Summary:

Lead daily store operations to deliver excellent customer service, profitable sales, and a safe, well-merchandised shopping experience. The Store Manager at MivarMart is responsible for staff leadership, inventory control, loss prevention, P&L ownership at the store level, and executing the brand promise of fresh, local produce with everyday value.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage hiring, training, scheduling and development of store staff (checkout, stockers, specialty departments).
  • Own store performance: sales targets, margin control, shrink/loss prevention strategies and expense management.
  • Oversee inventory management: ordering cadence, stock levels, promotional execution and vendor coordination.
  • Ensure merchandising standards and planogram compliance; maintain produce quality and freshness standards.
  • Lead customer service recovery, handle escalated customer issues, and maintain community relationships (local supplier partnerships, events).
  • Ensure store compliance with health, safety, and regulatory requirements (food safety, labeling, workplace safety).
  • Prepare weekly/monthly reports for senior management and contribute to local marketing/promotions.

Qualifications / Skills/ Requirements:

  • Mandatory: 1–3 years of hands-on supervisory experience working in a grocery store or supermarket. This experience is required for consideration.
  • Practical experience managing budgets, sales, inventory, and controlling waste/shrink.
  • Strong leadership and people skills; able to coach staff, resolve conflicts, and maintain a positive team environment.
  • Basic knowledge of handling perishables and fresh produce is a plus.
  • Comfortable using store systems for POS, inventory, ordering, and scheduling.
  • Able to work opening and closing shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must have valid government-issued ID and be eligible to work in Canada.

Work Environment / Schedule:

  • Responsible for overseeing store operations throughout the day, including peak periods, deliveries, inventory counts, and staff supervision.
  • Includes evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays to ensure proper store coverage and operational management.
  • Fast-paced retail environment; must manage multiple tasks and respond to operational needs as they arise.
