**Job Summary**:
As a Front Counter Cashier at our bustling neighborhood sandwich shop, you will serve as the face of our establishment, welcoming and assisting customers with a smile. Your primary responsibilities will include taking customer orders, processing payments, and ensuring the seamless operation of the front counter. We are looking for someone with a passion for providing excellent customer service, attention to detail, and a warm and welcoming personality.

**Key Responsibilities**:
1. **Customer Service**:

- Extend a warm and friendly greeting to customers.
- Provide guidance on menu selections and offer recommendations.
- Ensure customers receive attentive and considerate service.

2. **Order Processing**:

- Accurately take customer orders and input them into the point-of-sale system.
- Confirm order details, including special requests or dietary preferences.
- Prepare and present orders, ensuring they meet quality standards.

3. **Payment Handling**:

- Accurately handle cash and credit card transactions.
- Offer receipts and maintain a balanced cash register.
- Adhere to cash handling procedures to prevent discrepancies.

4. **Maintaining Cleanliness**:

- Keep the front counter area orderly and clean.
- Restock supplies and condiments as necessary.
- Monitor and uphold the cleanliness of the customer dining area.

5. **Menu Knowledge**:

- Stay informed about menu offerings, including ingredients and pricing.
- Respond to customer inquiries regarding menu items and ingredients.

6. **Multi-Tasking**:

- Manage multiple customer orders and inquiries, particularly during busy periods.
- Maintain efficiency and composure in a high-traffic, fast-paced environment.

**Qualifications**:

- Previous experience in a cashier or customer service role is advantageous.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and precision in order taking and payment handling.
- Capability to work effectively in a high-traffic, fast-paced environment.
- Basic mathematical skills for calculating totals and making change.
- A friendly and professional demeanor, with a dedication to exceptional customer service.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.

**Physical Requirements**:

- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Lift and transport moderate weights (e.g., bags of supplies, food trays).
- Move swiftly and efficiently in a compact workspace.
