Regional Sales Manager

The RSM is responsible for maintaining/increasing sales volume with existing and new accounts for Kinova’s portfolio of collaborative robots and services.
Located in the Midwest USA (or Montreal if comfortable with 50% of travel), the RSM will be accountable for executing assigned sales goals and sales plans within a designated sales territory (south and west of the Great Lakes). Additional strategic accounts may be assigned outside of the assigned sales region. The RSM will work proactively with appropriate division management (Sales, marketing and product management) and related support departments to ensure on time customer service needs are met or exceeded. This position reports to the VP Industrial Markets.
**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Create and execute a territory development strategy based on leveraging relationships, technology ecosystems and building the company brand;
- Responsible for sales goals/quotas in assigned territory;
- Hunt for new sales opportunities and once qualified/validated introduce them to the local Kinova channel partner (distributor or integrator);
- Drive KPI’s and action plans to achieve the annual target and KPI’s;
- Develop countermeasures to get back to budget if behind;
- Effectively Manage opportunity funnel, forecasting, and action plans;
- Canvas, initiate, qualify sales leads and follow through to ensure a solid sales funnel with channel partners;
- Represent company at trade shows and other industry events;
- Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of competitive products and their activity in the marketplace;
- Must be capable of traveling up to 50% of time; or as required.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering (electrical or mechanical preferred);
- or 3+ years of industrial automation or robotics industry experience;
- 5+ years of experience in outside sales and managing a territory;
- Must have proven track record of exceeding sales quota;
- Solid understanding of the technologies and trends in industrial automation and robotics;
- Experienced in solution/project selling involving a technical product;
- Proven hunter mentality and talent in building long lasting customer relationships;
- Strong sense of understanding of the value proposition to customers;
- Business acumen that can be applied at different levels of decision makers from senior management to technical support;
- CRM database management experience;
- Ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written;
- Knowledge of Google operating platform.
