**Athabasca University is seeking a motivated, skilled, and creative n experienced Collections Services Librarian for a permanent fulltime opportunity with at our University Library in Athabasca, Alberta.**

The Position:

- With responsibilities in e-resource management, acquisitions, and collection maintenance, the Collections Services Librarian:

- Ensures licensed library collections are accessible and accurately displayed across a variety of platforms.
- Supports and builds the Collections Services team's services in the areas of acquisitions, e-resource management, discovery services maintenance, cataloguing, and the integrated library system (ILS).
- Provides guidance and support with cataloguing and metadata used in the ILS and discovery services, ensuring optimized access.
- Works directly with the AUL, CS and the CS team, and with other library staff and AU community members as well as with vendors in the performance of duties.

The position reports directly to the Associate University Librarian, Collections Services (AUL,CS) and works closely with other librarians and staff.

Qualifications:

- A degree from an accredited master's level program in library and information studies is required.
- 2-5 years of experience, preferably in collections, cataloguing, or technical services in academic libraries.
- Experience with electronic resources management, including serials, is required.
- Experience with RDA, MARCEdit, and authority control is required.
- Strong negotiation skills are required.
- Demonstrated experience with Excel is required.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
- Excellent problem-solving and time management skills are required.
- Understanding of remote authentication methods is required.
- Familiarity with database usage reporting tools such as Counter reports is required.
- Experience or familiarity with Innovative Interface's Sierra ILS is an asset.
- Familiarity with report building tools, including regular expressions, JSON, SQL an asset.
- Knowledge of transformative agreements a definite asset.
- Awareness of AI use in academic libraries an asset.
