Plaid Shirt Building & Development is seeking a qualified person to join our small team of building enthusiasts as a Site Superintendent
You will be actively involved in the field side of our operations, working directly with our Construction Manager, Field Coordinator & Site Assistants on various projects. Duties will be typical to those of a Site Superintendent, managing the various trades onsite and ensuring quality, organization and commitment to our #plaidbuilt building practices.
Your colleagues will be a collective of experienced industry professionals, and you will work on a variety of interesting and engaging builds with a focus on quality and long term sustainability.
As a Site Superintendent you will be a self starter, an excellent communicator, meticulously organized, assertive and not afraid to take charge. You will be skilled at managing sub-trader/builder relationships including conflict resolution at times. You will have at least 10 years of relevant construction experience, and at least 2 years of relevant management experience, and you will be willing to get your hands dirty & support our field team as needed.
Preference will be given to applicants with the strongest residential construction background and a working knowledge of all aspects of the building process. A valid drivers license, clean drivers history and police records check are required as a company vehicle will be provided.
**Start Date: January 2025**
Vacation: 3 weeks paid
Requirements: Valid DL, clean abstract
Probationary Period: 3 months
**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES / DELIVERABLES**:
**The Site Superintendent works closely with both the Construction Manager (CM) and Field Coordinator (FC) to ensure that current job sites are operating safely and efficiently, and able to progress as scheduled. The Site Supervisor is a team player - willing and able to take on a variety of tasks in service of the projects.**
Your responsibilities:
- primary contact for all construction related onsite activity including supply deliveries & trade coordination
- implement measures provided by the CM & FC to maintain a site that is clean, safe, secure, & accessible at all times
- provide hands-on support required for work to be completed efficiently, troubleshooting issues as they arise
- working with the CM & FC on quality control & critical path management
- assisting the FC in updating the schedule of each project
- tasking & managing our site assistants onsite
- and many more things
These are the basic responsibilities of the role - but as a small & growing company, we all wear lots of hats, and our roles overlap - particularly as the work intensity ebbs and flows, or as we cover for each other during sickness, holidays, etc.
Pay: $80,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
