Overview

We are seeking a proactive and organized Assistant Site Superintendent to assist in the management of our residential construction sites. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and a willingness to learn. This role presents an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to gain valuable experience in residential construction while working alongside experienced professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Site Superintendent in overseeing daily construction activities and ensuring compliance with project specifications.
  • Support the coordination and scheduling of subcontractors, vendors, and deliveries.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and safety standards.
  • Assist with the interpretation of blueprints, construction drawings, and project plans.
  • Maintain accurate records of project activities, including daily logs and progress reports.
  • Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, including subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Assist in addressing any issues or concerns that arise during construction, implementing solutions as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Site Superintendent to ensure timely project completion and adherence to budgetary constraints.
  • Support the Site Superintendent in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in construction or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks.
  • Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
  • Team-oriented attitude with a desire to contribute to the success of the project.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Working Conditions:

This is a field position and will require travel between designated job sites in and outside of Calgary. Work may require occasional weekends and/or evenings. Steel-toed safety boots and hard hat is required. Physical requirements related to this position included, but are not limited to, the ability to lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pull heavy amounts of weight, operate assigned equipment/vehicles.
