**Work Requirement**:
This position will report to the Senior Scientist & Group Lead, Analytics, ADC Therapeutic Development, and will be based full time onsite in our Vancouver, BC office.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Design, implement, evaluate and optimize LC-MS (Q-TOF, Orbitrap and QQQ) based analytical methods for the qualitative and quantitative characterization of antibodies and ADCs.
- In-depth knowledge and execution of protein characterization including amino acid sequence confirmation, identification and quantitation of post-translational modifications, integrity analysis, sequence variant analysis, intact/reduced mass analysis.
- Lead and supervise analytical method transfer, validation, and sample analysis to support non-GLP and GLP stage animal studies; understand the project progress and timeline and complete the transfer and validation of analytical methods according to the project requirements.
- Utilize methods including chromatography, CE-SDS, ciEF, DSF, BLI, SPR and KinExA for the biophysical characterization of proteins and antibody-antigen interactions
- Explore and evaluate emerging technologies in the field of ADC therapeutic discovery to improve throughput, precision, accuracy, capabilities, and overall quality of methods employed.
- Actively engage with scientific literature, industry publications and internally generated data to enhance project understanding.
- Communicate within and across organizations to align methodology and share analytical findings.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and scientific/technical guidance to junior staff.
- May present at relevant scientific conferences on behalf of Zymeworks.
- Adhere to Zymeworks' standard procedures for generating, documenting, and archiving data, maintaining an accurate, up-to-date electronic laboratory notebook.
- Conduct all activities in accordance with scientific standards, OS&H regulations and established Zymeworks’ policies and practices. Contributes to a safe and highly efficient laboratory environment.
- Actively works to foster an environment of effective and collaborative working relationships amongst employees, management, and external partners.

**Education and Experience**:

- Requires a PhD in biochemistry, analytical chemistry, or related fields with 2 or more years of relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- In-depth knowledge and hands on experience with different mass spectrometry instruments like Q-TOF, QQQ and Orbitrap.
- Experience with managing CRO analytical method development and validation is an asset.
- Knowledge of regulatory processes is an asset.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize work, allocate resources, and deliver on deadlines.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities, as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills including presentation of complex data.
- Adhere to the highest degree of professional standards and strict confidentiality on matters that require discretion.

**Skills and Abilities**
- Strong organizational and time management skills, work effectively in a fast paced, fast changing environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively as a member of a cross-functional team; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Excellent communication skills, including scientific/technical writing and oral skills. Ability to present data effectively at large team meetings or interdepartmental meetings.

- In depth knowledge of antibody or antibody drug conjugate structure/function.
- Advanced knowledge in icIEF, CE-SDS, SPR, BLI and HPLC based chromatography (SEC, HIC, RP). Experience with Agilent Q-TOF, QQQ, Thermo Fisher Orbitrap Mass Spectrometry instruments and related data analysis software is a bonus.
