Everest Insurance Company of Canada, a member of the Everest Group, Ltd. is seeking a motivated and energetic individual to join our claims team as a Manager, Claims. This position will be based out of our Toronto, Canada office on a hybrid work schedule (3 days in office/2 days remote).
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Manage a Toronto based claims team and oversee daily claims operations- Directly examine third party claims of various severity levels- Review and analyze coverage, including preparation of Reservation of Rights- Investigate, analyze, evaluate and adjust assigned claims- Work closely with and provide direction to outside counsel, adjusters and other vendors- Proactively and timely establish claim reserves- Prepare large claims reports and reinsurance notifications, as needed- Assist and work in close collaboration with the underwriting team- Travel within the GTA and infrequent travel across Canada and the United States, as needed
Qualifications, Education & Experience:
- Ten to twelve years of claims adjustment experience- Previous management and/or supervisory experience- Extensive coverage evaluation skills of various claims- Legal background or working knowledge of jurisdictional laws and regulations across Canada- Superior oral and written communication skills, including concise presentation of often complicated facts along with analysis and recommendations- Aviation claims handling experience, an asset- Bilingual, French and English, an asset
