The Maintenance and Facilities Support plays a crucial role in ensuring that the new Amix Marine Services Ltd., Port Alberni site is efficient, well maintained and allows for smooth operations. The position will be responsible for working to maintain and provide effective operations for the facility and fleet, ensuring efficiencies are in place for operations and plans to meet the needs of the business. The Maintenance and Facilities Support works directly to support the Maintenance Manager to ensure plant and fleet operations are optimized, maintenance is up to date and efficiency is in place.

The Maintenance and Facilities Support is a vital part of the business and presents a professional front to both internal and external clients. They provide guidance and support to the team while ensuring that the business is running optimally.

**Duties**

The role will be responsible for, but is not limited to:

- Directly responsible for ensuring efficient operations of the Port Alberni location and Marine Services fleet, maintenance and planning for future needs.
- Maintains communication with the Maintenance Manager and the Marine Services Operations team to ensure efficient management of equipment and meeting the business needs. Supports the safety protocol and program in conjunction with the Director, Safety and Compliance and the Maintenance Manager
- Manage equipment requirements and recommend updates, purchases, contractors as needed.
- Working with the Maintenance Manager to develop and implement strategies to keep employees motivated and dedicated to the business and operations.
- Responsible for overseeing the management of contractors and maintenance programs including keeping track of maintenance on all company assets as directed.
- Working with the Amix Group teams to monitor changing market conditions and adjust strategies accordingly
- Working to identify problems and find effective solutions quickly
- Work closely with senior Amix leaders to develop and execute site demolition and salvage plans
- Identify opportunities to leverage value from the site assets
- Other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**
- 8 to 10 years of proven experience in facilities maintenance with a strong mechanical knowledge base.
- Red Seal Mechanical certification or equivalent preferred maintenance and or planning experience
- 6 to 8 years of on site operations experience
- Depth of knowledge and experience in planning and maintenance
- Experience with and high level knowledge of MS Office Suite
- Strong communication skills
- Proficient with conflict management and best business practices for the industry
- Strong organizational skills
