**Job Title**: Medical Device Reprocessing Technician

**Location**: North York, Mississauga

**Status**: full-time, part-time, casual

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Checking and preparing supplies and inventory lists
- Exerting extra care to handle extremely delicate and expensive equipment/instruments
- Packaging instruments in trays or packages according to procedures
- Thorough cleaning of the operating room in a quick and efficient manner
- Maintains cleanliness of the scrub room and maintains segregation of clean and dirty areas
- Ensures all treatment rooms and OR are stocked with appropriate medical supplies/instruments
- Assists with discharge of patients after surgical procedure
- Performing high temperature steam, low temperature ethylene oxide and other forms of sterilization

**Qualifications**:

- Completion of a post-secondary certificate up to one year in Sterile Supplies Processing Techniques
- Proficient in the correct operation of all processing equipment
- Knowledge of instrument technology
- Knowledge of sterilization/decontamination procedures/methods
- Knowledge of Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (W.H.M.I.S.)
- Knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and other relevant legislation
- Ability to read, write and speak English fluently to understand verbal work orders and/or instructions
- Ability to perform duties in a professional and courteous manner and produce high quality work while meeting deadlines
- Exercise initiative and good judgement with ability to multi-task
- Effective organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
