**Position**: An Educational Assistant is required to assist students in a junior high setting including students with severe behavior disorders and mild/moderate learning needs.
**Duties to Commence**:Immediately
**Qualifications & Duties**:
- Committed to being a model and witness to Christ-centered education values and beliefs.
- Completion of the Education Assistant Program at MacEwan University or equivalent post-secondary training.
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training an asset.
- Experience with assisting with the implementation of student Individual Program Plans.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, flexibility and ability to work well with a strong, interdisciplinary team.
- Displays a positive approach to students with social-emotional-behavioral needs.
- Experience implementing positive, proactive behavioural interventions including competence using specific strategies such as visual supports, sensory supports, reinforcement schedules, teaching problem-solving skills, social stories, etc. and has experience with Positive Behavioral Supports.
- Supporting the use of Google Apps for Education as well as assistive technology devices for communication.
- Experience and familiarity in providing support to students in mathematics and language arts at the Junior High Level.
- Experience modeling and teaching students social skills, and personal grooming.
- Experience working with ELL students at the secondary level.
- First Aid and CPR training would be an asset.
- Confidence in and knowledge of a variety of technology is critical.
- Ability and willingness to form relationships and be a mentor to a diverse, at risk group of adolescents is required. Ability to be involved in a wide variety of activities that require a high level of physical activity.
