International Custom Pak is a Canadian contract and private label manufacturer of customized health & beauty and personal care products. We are growing our team and looking for a creative, curious-minded, and self-motivated junior chemist who can assist with the research & development of cosmetic-grade formulations.

The incumbent will be responsible for developing formulations of various hair care and skin care formulations, and providing support for manufacturing scale-up.

**Key Duties & Responsibilities**
- Develop client-specific formulations and prepare client samples
- Provide suggestions for enhancement of existing formulations
- Maintain R & D logbook as well as sample-tracking logs
- Liaise with clients to obtain sample and formulation approvals
- Assist with preparation of master manufacturing documents for scale-up
- Establish analytical test methods and product specifications
- Create MSDS
- Liaise with new or existing suppliers for raw material samples and formulation troubleshooting
- Provide suggestions for formulation or manufacturing process improvements
- Maintain awareness of costs, efficiencies, and scale-up feasibility
- Provide additional lab support as required (QC/QA)
- Identify opportunities for process and lab operation improvements
- Assist with testing & release of manufactured batches as required

**Knowledge & Competencies Required**
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or other suitable scientific discipline
- Similar experience in cosmetic or pharmaceutical industry is preferred
- Eperience in a manufacturing or process costing environment is a strong asset
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage time effectively
- Strong problem identification and resolution skills
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative
- Ability to work independently within a team environment
- Proven ability to multi-task priorities in a fast-paced and growing environment
- Strong interpersonal skills with an emphasis on effective written and oral communication

**Salary**: $33,000.00-$43,000.00 per year
