**Position Summary**

Reporting to the General Manager, Asset Management, the Business Analyst will provide data analytics and information to help Asset Management achieve their business financial goals through enhanced organizational decision-making processes. The key areas of analysis will consist of financial reporting and budgeting, strategic planning, production reports, capital expenditure and forecasting, and business cases and/or project economics.

The position will be based out of our Fort Saskatchewan plant site.

**Accountabilities**
- Perform detailed requirements analysis, documenting processes, and building analytic reports.
- Evaluate business processes, anticipating requirements, uncovering areas for improvement, and developing and implementing solutions.
- Evaluate and monitor Asset Management performance to drive changes if needed, improve operational processes, identify opportunities to increase efficiencies and quality.
- Lead ongoing reviews of business processes and developing strategies to optimize our business.
- Effectively communicate insights and plans to cross-functional team members and management.
- Gather critical information from various stakeholders for internal reporting. Identify and bridge gaps in current reports/key performance indicators/processes and work with Asset Management Leadership to rectify as well as recommend and develop new/refined reports to drive business value and efficiency.
- Update, implement, and maintain procedures tied to establishing, monitoring, and reporting KPI’s and metrics within Asset Management.
- Use data to develop models for decision-making.
- Evaluate how the department operates and recommend approaches to the Asset Management Leadership team.

**Qualifications and Skills**
- A bachelor’s degree in business or related field or an MBA.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in business analysis or a related field.
- Exceptional data analytical, critical thinking, and conceptual thinking skills.
- Experience creating detailed reports and giving presentations.
- Experience in creating Excel reports, trends, graphs and various charts to develop Key Performance Indicators.
- A keen eye for detail that helps efficiently detect and solve problems.
- Effective communication is an essential skill.
- The ability to prioritize, organize, learn quickly, and work independently and within a team.
- Ability to work with stakeholders, customers, cross-functional members to collect data required for analysis.
- Ability to analyze data to understand, document, and demonstrate a continuous improvement mindset to improve business processes and efficiency.
- Knowledge of basic computer programs and concepts such as scaling, database analyses, and software interfaces.
- Knowledge of Business Case development.
